Zachariah Noori’s “Achcha” represents Morocco at the 22nd Ismailia Documentary and Short Film Festival

Ismailia Documentary, which will be held in Egypt from June 16 to 22 as part of the Short Film Competition, will represent Morocco in the 22nd edition of the film “Acha” written by young director Zachariah Noori, representing Morocco.

The film, which stars actresses Nisreen Eradi, Najat Skali, Tawfiq Al-Mauni and Rauf Sabahi, tells the story of a girl who struggles to cope. Her bedridden mother.

The film won the Best Picture award at the Mesopotamia Short Film Festival in the Netherlands last year and was nominated for numerous international festivals representing Morocco, Africa and the Middle East, particularly Austria, Ireland, Sweden, Greece and Argentina.

This year’s edition will feature 78 films from 50 countries, which will compete for various festival prizes, including animated films, feature-length documentaries, short documentaries and short films.

This year’s session honors a number of Egyptian artists, including the late Raja al-Jeddah, critic Kamal Ramzi, artists Safia al-Omari, Ahmed Badir and the late director Faiza Hussein.
