A film with a very dark aesthetic and a very slow pace. Lead actress Hazel Dupe makes the movie entertaining not forgetting the physical performance of Caroline Bracken who plays her mother. Between madness and possession, this film speaks of Ireland and its legends.

A true cradle of Celtic folklore, Ireland still retains many elements that remind us of its past and roots every day. We still speak Gaelic there and have many deeply rooted customs. The Irish are proud and love their traditions.

Note, this picture is not about the Jack-o-Lantern, but about the myth of the twin. The original title “You Are Not My Mother” lets us guess that, but in France, we’ve changed it to Samhain, which is Celtic for the Feast of the Dead month.

Our take on this movie:
It’s well done, and although many will see here just another film about the evil double, we liked the atmosphere and the director’s work. A good movie about mother-daughter relationships is a must watch.
