XV in Wales: Alon Win Jones extended one year with Ospreys

Alun Vin Jones, 35, the captain and second tier of Wales, the winner of the last Six Nations tournament, announced on Tuesday that his contract with Ospreys and the federation has been extended for a year, leaving him until 2022.

Instagram, the world record holder for selection, has 157 caps, including the British and Irish Lions.

The Welsh Rugby Federation said in a statement that the contract extension has been closed ahead of the 2021 tournament, but the player wanted to focus on the league before announcing a deadline with XV and Ospreys. “Alun will go down in history as one of the greatest players of all time, but he is still at the forefront of the game, both in terms of performance and success. He deserves this contract extension and represents an important part of our future. ”, Welsh coach Wayne Pivak responded, quoting a Welsh Federation press release.

Alun Wine Jones, winner of his fifth tournament with XV du Lee, will play in France in 2023, the fifth World Cup since 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019.
