The dates for the 2021 WRC season have been officially announced by the Ypres Rally.
The Rentis Yepres Rally had to be canceled in Belgium following the second wave of the Kovid-19, which was originally scheduled to make its debut on the world rally calendar from November 19 to 22, 2020.
The rally was included in the event reserve list, which usually takes place in July, before the resumption of the rally to replace Northern Ireland and Great Britain. A few days after the announcement, 21 official rally dates were revealed: August 21-15, 2021, a week before the weekend, the British round should be on the first calendar.
“Our dates are great as organizers”, The promoter of the event was John Hughes, marketing and commercial director of Club Superstage. « For a lot of people this is a long weekend and we are in the middle of the school holidays. In addition, these dates are also suitable for the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, where the Formula 1 Grand Prix will be in the program two weeks later. “
There are 12 events at the WRC World Rally Championship (find the full program here) starting this week with the Monte-Carlo Rally. One of the favorites, Thierry Newville, will play without their 10-year-old teammate, Nicholas Gilles.
