Week 4 Trend: Weather until May 29th

Like every Thursday, our four-week weather trend is updated. It covers the period up to Sunday, May 29, while ending the Spring School Holiday and the only Ascension Bridge this May.

Anticyclonic conditions prevail in the northern half of France, while thunderstorms erupt temporarily in the southern parts, especially in the reliefs. This trend usually persists into the first half of May, when temperatures are very close to the seasonal average. Temperatures are expected to drop significantly between May 5 and 10, leading to late frosts. The second half of May will reverse this trend as the weather becomes more stable in the southern half and rains fall again in the northern half. This rain is welcome in the face of drought. Finally, the first heatstroke of the season is planned for the end of the month in France.

Week 2 to 8 May: Fresh in the north and thunder in the south

An air mass collision occurs between cold air from northern Europe and moderate air from the Iberian Peninsula. There will be a stormy evolution from the Pyrenees to the Middle East, especially in relation to relief. The Mediterranean will be isolated to some extent from this decay. Dry and changeable weather is expected in the northern half. It will be very cold in the north and west and mild in the south-east.

Week 9 to 15 May: The north is still dry and prone to frost

Climate change seems to have blocked globally, but this does not prevent temporary changes within days, but the operating centers remain the same: high pressure persists in northern Europe, with the northern hemisphere still dry and sometimes very cold, while the typhoon breaks between the Pyrenees and the Alps.

Week 16 to 22 May: Is the Northwest expected to rain?

Good spring weather may return to the south, while more unseasonable weather may return from the northwest when cold drops come from Ireland. During the season, the temperature rises slightly above normal, especially in the southern half of the country. This trend is still unreliable, especially with regard to the northwest monsoon, which may be scattered.

Week of May 23-29: Towards a beautiful Ascension Bridge?

The weekend of May 29th will be the only long weekend this May, and many of you will definitely want to take advantage of this: you might consider planning a weekend by the sea or in the mountains, as there is a beautiful opportunity to feel the warm and summery weather confirmed in France. Following the first heatstroke of the season from the West will need to be followed by a stormy collapse that will not fail.

In conclusion, Drought persists in the northern half and the presence of thunder in the south, especially in the relief areas. The second two weeks can be postponed as the northern hemisphere gets some rain and the south gets better before the end of the hot summer months of May.

Next update, Thursday, May 5th at 5pm.
