Authorities in the Spanish island have ordered 700 people to evacuate their homes, and the third eruption of the La Palma volcano is intensifying.

Authorities in La Palma have ordered more 700 residents of the Spanish island of the Canary Islands have fled their homes This is because, according to the Canaries Povolka Volcanic Emergency Plan, lava from the Cumbre Viza volcano was heading to their neighborhood on Tuesday, October 12th.

About 1,500 buildings were destroyed

The day after the evacuation, the third lava flow of Cumbria Vijay, which erupted on Palma Island, did not weaken. On the contrary, it is rapidly gaining ground. To date, the island of Lava already covers 656 hectares, 86 of which have been under the European Copernicus program for the past 48 hours.

According to the European Program, a total of 1,458 buildings were destroyed in the lava flow from the volcano.

Flows fast

The Institute of Volcanology (Involcan) of the Canary Islands produces very fast flows, however the progress of the flow gives the authorities time to organize evictions.
