UPI Deactivation Tips, UPI Tips: If your phone is lost or stolen, don’t panic, Deactivate your UPI account, see the process – follow this simple process

New Delhi: UPI Payments: The trend of digital payments (UPI) has grown rapidly and now almost everyone is using digital payments. Even in the era of Covid-19, digital payment options and contactless transactions are a big help in transactions. Since then, digital payments have gained momentum. Generally people resort to digital payment for purchases. Because making UPI payment using mobile is easy. With the UPI payment option, the need to keep cash in your pocket is almost gone. You can shop from big malls to small grocery stores with the help of your smartphone.

But, in such a case, if your mobile is lost somewhere and it falls into wrong hands, they can also empty your bank account. So there are some things to keep in mind while using UPI payments. Here’s how to easily deactivate your UPI account if your phone is stolen or lost.

Follow these steps to deactivate UPI account:

If the phone is stolen or lost, first call your mobile network’s customer care executive and ask them to block your mobile number and SIM immediately. Executive will prevent you from creating UPI PIN using your mobile number. To block a SIM, the customer care executive may ask you for details like your full name, billing address, last recharge details, email ID, etc.

Next, you should call your bank’s helpline number and ask them to block your bank account and turn off UPI services. You need to register an FIR for the lost phone with which you can resume your SIM and banking services.
