‘Unsurvivable’ surge anticipated to hit Texas and Louisiana

Hurricane Laura roared toward the Gulf Coast on Wednesday afternoon as a substantial Group 4 storm and was predicted to result in catastrophic harm and “unsurvivable storm surge” along the Texas and Louisiana border, the National Hurricane Centre mentioned.

Laura, 320km south-southeast of Port Arthur on Wednesday afternoon, experienced highest sustained winds of 220km/h and was envisioned to pack winds of up to 233km/h right before landfall on Wednesday night time, the Miami-dependent forecaster said.
