One month later, on December 12, Divison Figueroa made a quick turnaround after winning the UFC 256 in two minutes in an attempt to retain his flyweight title. Pound contender Brandon Moreno was knocked out of the UFC 255 victory.
Figueroa and Moreno women’s bantamweight and welterweight champion Kamaru Usman are all tied to featherweight champion Suresh Vasconcelos and bantamweight champion Petr Yan in an attempt to save the event, which is lost in three planned title matches. Moreno will make his second defense of the flyweight title, which he won in a vacant title match with Joseph Benavides earlier this year, and successfully defended against Alex Perez in November. A win over Moreno would make Figueroa 4-0 in 2020, and could lock him into this year’s best fighter.

In addition to the major event bout, this ultimate PPV card for 2020 has some serious issues. No more fans looking forward to the co-main event where “El Cook” Tony Ferguson will face the lightweight Charles Olivera. Ferguson gave up a brutal fight with Justin Geith for the 155-pound interim title after missing another chance to face Khabib Nurmagomedov due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. Ferguson lost to Geithe by 12 wins. Oliveira, meanwhile, enters a seven-match winning streak and holds the UFC record for most submission victories.
It will be a busy week in Las Vegas as the UFC inch closer to the end of 2020. Stay tuned to CBS Sports for the latest news and updates on the card, as well as Fight Night results with our live coverage.
