On Sunday, it was suggested that the Big Ten conference could go ahead with the football season without attending schools in the three states, as some players and parents have called for the season to resume.
In a tweet, Trump targeted the governors of Illinois, Michigan and Maryland, saying “there is no interest or political support” for continuing the games, and suggested that the league could continue without them.
Big Ten football looks great, but Michigan, Illinois and Maryland may lose out because of the ridiculous interest or political support of governors. Will they play without them?

Trump’s tweet comes a month after the official move to cancel the Big Ten football season, which is set to begin this fall, amid concerns over a corona virus pandemic. Some players and others associated with the conference have called for the decision to be reversed.
University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbog is among those who have recently publicly called for the resumption of this season, as campuses across the country have struggled with the bursting clusters of student dormitories and Greek Life residences returning to study.
“Everyone was there. We want to play as fast as we can. We ‘re ready to play. We’re ready to play a game in two weeks,” Harbo said. Said this week. “Turn on the pads. Our people have been training non-stop since June 15. That’s our position and we’re ready to play as fast as we can.”
Presidents of a dozen universities Voted in favor Nebraska and Iowa, two members of the conference that ended the season of the Big Ten last month, voted to move on with the games.
