Toll rates can now be found on Google Maps!

Published on

Toll rates on national highways vary from region to region. Road users are not very aware of these charges. Knowing the charges in advance will allow you to plan your trip accordingly. Google Maps thinks so too. It has been informed that the facility of knowing the details of toll charges will be introduced soon for the convenience of the users.

This feature lets you type in Google Maps before starting your journey and find out what is being charged at toll plazas along the way. This will give you an idea of the total toll for going that route. It will also help you to choose another route with less toll charges.

Google Maps gives you an idea of what the toll charges will be on the way. In some cases the actual rates may not be a little different. If you open Google Maps and tap on the three dots at the top of the page and look for directions, there will also be details of the toll free routes. Google has announced that it will make this feature available to Android and iOS users later this month. She said toll details for a total of 2,000 roads in India, the US, Japan and Indonesia would be provided first.
