The United Kingdom plans to host the 2030 World Cup amid Euro Cup events

Despite the UEFA’s ban on events in the European 2020 final in London last July, the United Kingdom is determined to host the 2030 World Cup, despite the UEFA imposing sanctions on Monday the 18th and 18th.

“There are lessons to be learned, the FA (English Football Federation) has commissioned an audit (…) This is very serious, but that does not mean it could jeopardize our candidacy,” said CEO Morton.

Morton is part of a working group to study the joint candidacy of the United Kingdom and Ireland to host the 2022 edition of the World Cup in Qatar, the 2026 edition, the United States, Mexico and Canada.

UEFA fined England 100,000 euros ($ 116,000) for an unpopular match for English fans’ violent behavior before and after the Euro 2020 final, while Italy beat England on penalties.
