A few months before the euro, just weeks before a city tour to the Balkans to continue qualifying for the 2023 World Cup (in Albania and Kosovo in April), the Red Flames are making progress in their preparations.

The Pinathar Cup will feature seven other nations in the first leg of Belgium’s shipment to Spain from February 16-22.

This is the first tournament in which the Belgians will take part, taking place in San Pedro del Pinatur. Created two pools, Belgium finds itself with Scotland, Wales and Slovakia. The first match will be played on February 16 at 8.30 pm. If they win, they will play against the winner of the Wales-Scotland match. If it loses, it will be to the loser on February 19th.

“The tournament is a win-lose affair, with three matches guaranteed for each team, while Group B includes Hungary, Ireland, Poland and Russia. All finals from 1st to 8th place will be played on Tuesday, February 22 at the Arena and La Manga,” the RBFA said in a statement.

Out of the current eight teams, Belgium ranks 20th in the FIFA rankings. We do not find Spain, but Scotland (23), Russia (24), Poland (30), Ireland (31), Wales (33), Hungary (43) and Slovakia (44).

Slovakia is a country that makes coaches happy: “For the World Cup, the Slovaks played in a series against Finland and Sweden, but they barely lost each time, so Slovakia will be a good challenge for our team in terms of our other qualifiers, including the World Cup against Kosovo. We want to finish high. “, He reveals on the RBFA website.
