The last-minute flight from London was prepared for ‘hundreds’ of Irish passengers

A British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Dublin arrived last night. Earlier, hundreds of passengers were stranded due to overbooking of the aircraft.

Photos and photos of Heathrow’s Terminal 5 have surfaced on social media. Shows rows of passengers arriving at the airport. At 8.55pm, Airlingas was found unable to board the flight.

One person wrote on Twitter for the flight that “hundreds” of people arrived for the 8.55pm flight.

It was initially thought that British Airways would pick up isolated passengers overnight at a hotel, but it was later realized that a last-minute flight had been arranged.

“All the Irish people in Terminal 5 were pressured to go nowhere,” one tweeted, as passengers gathered at the terminal wearing masks.

Another wrote: “Most of this crowd does not even know what is happening. Booked the flight again and waited to board at a hotel. ”

Flights from London were called off last night amid concerns about a corona virus mutation in London and the south-east of England following a government decision to ban flights from Britain to Ireland for 48 hours.

British Airways has reportedly contacted the Irish government to board a last-minute flight from London to Dublin at 11pm.

A BA spokesman said: “We are urgently looking at alternative arrangements for our teams to bring customers to Dublin as soon as possible.”
