LOS ANGELES, Dec. 12 – Harrison Ford may be in his 80s, but he’s not old enough to give adventurer Indiana Jones the expansive Fedora for a final film.
The announcement of Disney’s fifth and final indie flick in 2022 – which has been evolving over the years – sent fans into a festive mood on social media.
“We are in pre-production for the next and final installments Indiana Jones, ”Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said at Disney’s Big Investor Day presentation on Thursday.
“Of course, Indy himself, Harrison Ford, will be back to end this character’s journey. Indy will start shooting in late spring of 2021 and will be released in July 2022. ”
James Mangold will be the director of Racing Flick Ford vs Ferrari And Logan, The last chapter in a long series of Wolverine flicks starring Hugh Jackman.
Steven Spielberg, who directed the first four indie flicks, was ready from the beginning to direct the first chapter of the first episode.Jones Saga, however, gave control to Mangold instead.
Spielberg will continue to be a producer.
Ford, now 78, first played the role of Indiana Jones in 1981 The riders of the lost ark – A few years after gaining global fame as Han Solo in the original Star Wars Film.
