“What happened in Afghanistan is a catastrophe, a catastrophe for Afghans, a catastrophe for Western credibility, a catastrophe for international relations. It is a nightmare. We cannot take all Afghans out of the country,” he warned. EU High Representative Joseph Boral at an extraordinary hearing in the European Parliament.

Airlift continues, another 400 to Rome An Air Force C130 flew in the morning from Kabul and evacuated 99 Afghan civilians. Another C130 with 95 passengers on board took off at night. Two more C130Js will depart from Kuwait for Kabul. A KC7677 will land at Fiamisino on Wednesday morning, evacuating 200 Afghans.

With today’s arrival, more than 500 former collaborators and their families have been relocated to Italy since June, when Aquila 1 brought 228 Afghans to our country. The Rome-Kabul airlift includes more than 1,500 Italian soldiers.
