Legendary singer Synod O’Connor has announced that he will be training as a health care professional.
Connor, popularly known as Shuhada Sadaqat after the 2018 conversion to Islam, informed fans via Twitter today.
“I’m very excited to start college in a few weeks,” O’Connor said, adding that she will be running a Fetac Level 5 Healthcare Support Course.
“I would still be a singer, but I would work as a health care assistant between albums and tours,” she said.

The tweet was sent from a separate account – one she uses for more personal updates – to her verified number that focuses on her music and touring.
67 Management Irish Independent, headquartered in Northern Ireland, her management company, confirmed this was legal.
However, she indicated in a statement that she was not available for further discussion on the planned health care path.
“Unfortunately, Cyanide is not available for comment at this time,” the statement said.
O’Connor has several shows planned for 2021 in the US and Europe.
He told organizers not to use his music at recent anti-mask demonstrations in Dublin.
