The security flaw in the iPhones was discovered by the Dormstadt Technical University in Germany. The researchers said that the software would work even if the phone was turned off.

According to the news on ShiftDelete, The Dormstadt Technical University in Germany, which discovered the dangers of the iPhone, published an article on the subject. The university, which did the research, said it had sent an email to Apple before publishing it, but representatives did not respond to a request for comment.

Malware works even when the iPhone is off!

To maintain settings such as time and date, when technical devices are turned off, they are not actually turned off completely. Similarly, iPhone phones go into low power mode instead of shutting down completely due to the functionality of the Find feature or other features.

The researchers also published an article revealing that malware still works when the iPhone is turned off. Failure to shut down the phone completely due to certain programs can lead to abuse. “Implementing the current low-power mode on iPhone phones attracts new threats,” the researchers wrote in the paper. He also made a statement.

The researchers who published the article also made the following statements:

“The design of low-power mode features seems to be driven by functionality, regardless of threats outside of the intended application. Application inside the firmware is not vulnerable to tampering.”

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A security firm commented on the article:

“Hardware and software attacks similar to those described have been shown to be practical in a real – world environment. Therefore, the topics covered in this article are practical.”
