Samsung is no longer a trendsetter in mobile fashion. The Galaxy Z Flip5 is modeled after the Oppo Find N2 Flip

Insider Ice Universe spoke about the future Galaxy Z Flip5 clamshell smartphone. According to the source, the device will be similar to the Oppo Find N2 Flip in many ways: it will get similar waterdrop-shaped hinges, an external screen similar to the Find N2 Flip’s 3.26-inch external screen, and possibly a larger battery than a current model. Meanwhile, it’s not a given that the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s battery will be bigger than the Oppo phone.

All this suggests that Samsung has lost its status as a trendsetter in mobile fashion. The Korean company is now on a catch-up roll: already its phones are starting to look like Chinese phones, not the other way around. The Oppo Find N2 Flip will take place next week on December 15, which has already been officially confirmed. The premiere of Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 is expected only in the second half of 2023. In addition, the geography of Oppo Find N2 Flip sales, according to preliminary data, will not be limited to China, which could be a problem not only for the future Galaxy Z Fold5, but also for the current Galaxy Z Fold4.

Ice Universe was one of the first to talk about smartphones with waterfall screens, the notch on the iPhone X, the new design of the iPhone 14, and Samsung’s 200-megapixel image sensor.
