I have worked in a lot of places outside of the usual comforts of office or home. The backs of suspiciously driven taxis. On the cold, concrete floors of convention centers. On packed passenger trains. Returned to an economy plane seat. The list goes on and on, and only a few can provide the comfort or practicality you think is appropriate.
However, I found a new mobile location where I could happily work all day … the back of a Rolls Royce.
While working on this move, Rolls Royce is proud of its entrepreneurial customer base, not only because they want to move in style and comfort, but also to continue their business operations with minimal interruptions.
No wonder Rolls-Royce delivered by giving the road an unparalleled work environment – and I was lucky enough to experience this.
A mushroom of pleasure
As soon as you plant yourself in the back of a Rolls Royce there are a few things you’ll notice, whether it’s the Cullinan SUV or the new Ghost: space and carpet.
Lots of seats lie closer to your sofa than a traditional car seat, with plenty of space and headroom and leg room that can accommodate even the largest passenger. Headrest pillows are stunning and attractive, almost like a pillow that will cradle your head.
While the abundance of space may be a clear point, floor covering is not something you are likely to notice – but things are different at Rolls Royce. Your feet sink into the deep, sheepskin rugs, forcing you to take off your shoes and take full advantage of the floor covering.
Once you’ve settled in, after closing the door with the touch (hold) of a button, you’ll pick up a few more amenities. These include the padded armrests on the door panel, the center division between the two seats, and Rolls-Royce’s dream Starlight headliner.
The second is best seen at night, and features a star-like display across the roof, which enhances the magical aesthetics of the in-cabin environment.
So, this car is comfortable – expect more cost than the price of a vehicle. This is a good start to doing a few jobs, but it’s more than just a relief for the Rolls Royce business world.
Stunning workplace
Another thing you notice when your power-door clicks close automatically is the sound – or, more accurately, its absence. Things don’t get any louder when you’re on the go.
Rolls-Royce went to great lengths to reduce the noise inside the cabin with soundproofing throughout the vehicle’s frame, double-glazed windows, and a very quiet but powerful V12 engine.
This reduction in road noise, engine noise and general city noise means that you can think more clearly and focus on the tasks at hand.
Around the cities behind the taxis, I know how difficult it is to focus when your sound train is interrupted by various noises. Not so in a Rolls Royce.
Another thing I find difficult when trying to work on cars or trains is the amount of movement you undergo on a trip. Bumps, twists, sharp breaks, and general vibrations make typing, reading, scrolling, and viewing even more frustrating.
When it comes to smooth ride, nothing comes close to riding on the back of a Rolls Royce. The experience is more like flying (business class, naturally) than being on the road.
The car’s efficient suspension systems and seat dampeners mean soaking up road imperfections, resulting in smoother travel. My laptop screen did not shake, and my hands did not touch the top of the keyboard, which caused me to lose the keys, and Corning did not see me investing my laptop and phone in a footwell – and did not push me to the side.
As an additional subscription fee, you can set up your Rolls Royce with Wi-Fi connectivity, which allows you to access it online – a must for anyone looking to do business from the backseat.
Press a button on the back of your front seat to open a tray table. Although it is useful for resting my smartphone, it proved to be too small to type on with a laptop as only part of the device can rest on the tray.
However, an iPad would be nice to have here – however, if you opt for the rear seat entertainment package, you’ll get built-in touchscreen displays behind tray tables with DVD and Live TV functionality. There are a few USB ports for charging and an HDMI port that allows you to connect a device to the above displays.
With a laptop and a smartphone on my lap, I was able to sit comfortably and firmly for more than two hours. Of course, the ride is not perfect – if you are going through a big hole the power will definitely be transferred through the chassis. However, in all honesty, I have not come close to the serenity, comfort and ease of working in another vehicle based on land.
I’m not going to go back to the Rolls Royce experience – because I can never afford it.
The price of luxury
I worked for over four hours on the back of a Rolls Royce Cullinan SUV and another hour on the back of the new Ghost – both of which had over $ 300,000 (approximately $ 380,000, AU $ 530,000) price tags. Levels.
When you spend this amount on one car, it is good to know that it will deliver more than you experience from any other vehicle. However, this severely limits the prospective customer base.
This is not to say that this is a problem for Rolls Royce. The launch of the Cullian SUV in 2018 became the company’s best-selling car in 2019, thanks to a request for a new customer base for the brand. With the new Ghost – a Rolls Royce for owners who want to drive and drive – the company hopes to continue to expand the range of their cars.
While these vehicles may not be cheap, if you want to work comfortably on this move, you can start saving proto.
