Radio Nova Road Trip in Ireland: Third Stop Galway

Published on

The Radio Nova team set out to discover Irish music and bring it to life.

Between traditional music, rock, soul and hip hop, Irish music is never done surprising you. We went to Galway to extend the mic for this third stop.

The beauty of Galway, the gateway to the west coast of Ireland and Connemara, is unmatched. Music is ubiquitous, authentic, vibrant, festive and a city on a human level. For this third episode, we went to see the city’s iconic Luther Paul Doyle, who welcomed us to Leo’s workshop from Brazil.

But the real stars in Galway are the street musician busters performing across Shop Street where we met Steven and Lena. Two young buzzers who improved a live session for us.

Lena sees us in the evenings at an unavoidable pub in Galway: Crane.

One of the magical, authentic and intimate places where we had the opportunity to attend a live session of the famous flutist Steph Jeremiah. A true icon of traditional Irish music, it is rarely played at such events. Irish clover must have brought us luck.

After Dublin and Belfast, Galway was the last stop on our musical road trip through Ireland. We are happy to share with you a journey rich in emotion and music.
