Palakkad Kovid patient’s body handed over; Hospital officials say a mistake was made by a mortuary employee

Palakkad: After Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital The body of a Kovid patient was also shifted in Palakkad district. The body was shifted to Karuna Medical College. The bodies of two Kovid patients who died last night have been recovered. The body of a native of Alathur was given instead of the body of a native of Mankara. Hospital officials admitted the mistake. The hospital explained that it was a mistake on the part of the mortuary employee. The relatives said they would lodge a complaint with the police.

The body of Prasad, a native of Neyyattinkara, was earlier kept in the mortuary of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. This is the second time that the body of a Kovid patient has been shifted from the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. Prasad died on Saturday while being taken to a medical college hospital.

Kovid was positive on examination. It was only when the relatives came to collect the body the other day that they realized that it had changed. The problem was that two bodies named Prasad were found in the mortuary. Sixty-year-old Prasad’s family from Vellayani took the body of forty-seven-year-old Prasad and buried him.
