OneWeb’s 40 satellites were launched on a SpaceX rocket Internet | Spacex | Technology | Technology News | Earth Observation Satellite | Science News | Malayalam Technology News

SpaceX has successfully launched 40 satellites of leading satellite communications (SATCOM) company OneWeb. The launch took place from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA. This is the 15th launch from OneWeb. OneWeb and SpaceX are companies working toward satellite Internet.

OneWeb’s satellites were launched from India in October. This is the second launch after this. OneWeb aims to achieve global coverage of satellite broadband networks by 2023. This is the first time OneWeb has launched satellites from Florida. OneWeb satellites are being built with the help of Airbus.

OneWeb has already deployed more than 502 satellites. And 80 percent of the total satellites have been launched. The company has three more launches to go. With today’s deployment of 40 satellites, OneWeb is able to provide satcom services in the US, North Africa, Southern Europe, Northern India, Japan, the Middle East, Southern Australia, South Africa and parts of South America.
