Facebook’s Oculus Quest VR platform has been adding updates for the past year and a half, but its latest could turn it into a full-fledged workout ecosystem for the winter. The Oculus Quest 2 Visual upgrades are also available to support 90Hz upgrade rates in games and PC usage. This is all part of it Software update announced today.
Oculus Move, the new fitness dashboard that tracks movement and estimated calorie burn across multiple VR exercise apps, will be released next week as part of the Quest and Quest 2 software update. The move was announced earlier this fall at Facebook’s Virtual Connect conference during the launch of Quest 2.
The latest software update will make Quest 2 90Hz VR support easier for games you choose to take advantage of. The first games with updates will be Superhot, Echo VR, Beat Saber, Vacation Simulator, Job Simulator, Rocket: NX, and Space Pirate Trainer.
The standard for PC VR is 90 Hz VR, and Quest and Quest 2 can already work as PC VR headsets with a USB-C cable. Oculus Link Quest 2, a PC-connected feature, also supports 90Hz.
