Chinese President Xi Jinping told US President Joe Biden on Friday that no one was interested in clashes and clashes like the ones in Ukraine, Chinese state media reported.

Relations between the states could not move into an atmosphere of confrontation, he told Shi Biden in a video conference. “The crisis in Ukraine is something we do not want to see,” he said.

“As permanent members of the UN Security Council and the two largest economies in the world, we must not only steer China-US relations on the right track, but also shoulder our international responsibilities and work for peace and tranquility in the world,” he concluded. Xi.

The White House said the talks between the leaders lasted about two hours. This is the fourth meeting between the two presidents since Biden took office.

US leader Xi Jinping should be asked to distance himself from President Vladimir Putin, who invaded Ukraine on February 24. Since then, China has refrained from condemning the Russian occupation and blamed NATO for the conflict.

“Conflict and hostility do not benefit anyone. Peace and security are the most important commodities of the international community,” he said.
