Don’t Look Up, a ridiculous climate change film, made Netflix history after watching the most hours of movies in a week.

The film, written and directed by The Big Short Filmmaker Adam McKay, saw 152,290,000 hours worldwide between December 27 and January 2, a record-breaking streak on the deadline.

Leonardo DiCaprio, professor of astronomy; Randall Mindy and Jennifer Lawrence play his student Kate Dibiaski, who does not take the warning that the comet will go to Earth seriously.

The film, which presents a satirical version of the climate change crisis and misinformation, has spent two weeks on Netflix’s Top 10 Movies and TV List since its December 24 release.

Its closest current rival, The Unforgivable of 2021, starring Sandra Bullock, is far behind with 21,310,000 viewing hours.

According to the streaming giant, satire currently tops the list in 92 countries, including the UK, US, Canada, Ireland, France, Germany and Australia.

Looking at Dont Look Up, two astronomers DiCaprio and Lawrence embark on a gigantic media tour, trying to get people to pay attention to what they are trying to say, and not being struck by a comet.

The film also stars Meryl Streep, Timothy Chalamet, Cate Blanchett, Tyler Perry, Sir Mark Rylans, Ron Pearlman, Himesh Patel, Melanie Linsky and singer Ariana Grande.

DiCaprio will make his screen debut in Hollywood in 2019 after Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time, while Lawrence has not appeared in a single film since the 2019 Ex-Men film Dark Phoenix.

It premiered in theaters on December 10, but began streaming on Netflix on December 24.
