Buffalo Netflix records Asia-Pacific spy thriller operation without China
The six-part series will air on February 28, following an agreement with the Paris-based financier and distributor, Premium Content (IPC).
Last year, the Belgian broadcaster RTBF also sold Akron TV in Great Britain and Ireland, UPC in Switzerland, RTP in Portugal, NRK TV in Norway and Viazat World in Central and Eastern Europe.
After partial funding for the project, APC acquired the international distribution rights. Screen Australia has received additional investment to support the series debut in Australia in 2020.
The period drama during the British nuclear test in the Australian outback in the 1950s was first commissioned by the Australian company ABC, produced by Portlight Films.
Operation Buffalo was written by Peter Duncan (Rake) and co-produced by Vincent Sheehan of Porchlight Films and co-author of the Tania Fagan series.
“Operation Buffalo is an exciting and entertaining game in the story of an exciting espionage,” says Laurent Boyce and Emmanuel Gilbert, staff co-chiefs and co-founders of IPC.
