Elon Musk has been accused of failing to pay taxes to the government in proportion to his earnings from Tesla, SpaceX and other ventures. However, the world’s richest man responded to the allegations on Twitter. Musk also revealed figures for total taxes paid this year.

Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has revealed that he will pay more than $ 11 billion (approximately Rs 83,000 crore) in taxes this year. If the figures in Musk’s tweet are correct, it could be the largest tax the U.S. Internal Revenue Service receives from one person in a year.

“To my surprise, I’m going to pay more than $ 11 billion in taxes this year,” Musk tweeted. The tax tweet follows a dispute between Musk and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren. Elizabeth Warren had previously accused Musk of failing to pay appropriate taxes.

Responding to Warren’s tweet, Musk tweeted, “This year will pay more taxes than any American in history.” With this, many people came to the scene questioning Warren’s intention to make such allegations against Musk. Elon Musk was also named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year 2021.
