Satellite Brazil U.S. authorities have opened more than 170 cases since the capital riots, 70 of which have already been registered. Washington Attorney General Michael Sherwin told reporters Tuesday.

“As we literally sit here after the event, we have already opened more than 170 files, which means these individuals have been identified as potential criminals inside and outside the capital,” he said.

“We have already prepared more than 70 cases,” said Attorney General Michael Sherwin, adding that the number will increase geometrically.

On January 6, at a rally near the White House, US President Donald Trump asked his supporters to go to the capital to “help the weaker Republicans” to challenge the election results.

A group of Trump supporters besieged the U.S. Congress, stormed the building and disrupted a joint session approving Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election. Members of Congress were moved to a safer location, where they were intercepted for hours.
