Castello de Marvo in green will pay homage to St. Patrick’s Day.

Tourismo Do Alantejo joins Global Greening, a project launched by Tourismo de Ireland in 2010 to mark the day of St. Patrick, the Patron of Ireland. To commemorate this day, on March 17, Marvo Castle will glow green in honor.

To commemorate this project, hundreds of monuments around the world will pay homage to the Irish festival.

“Joining the Global Greening is a way of thanking the Irish Association of Travel Agents for choosing Alantejo as the venue for their annual congress, and reminding all Irish people that we are a great destination to travel to. This is the special moment we are living in, “said Veter Silva, president of Alantejo’s tourism promotion agency.

The project has been taking place around the world, and since 2010, some major world sights, such as the Sydney Opera House, have already been illuminated in green, along with other monuments in Rome, Rio de Janeiro, the Arctic and Portugal, which were the first monuments to join the Global Greening.
