The French women’s rugby sevens team finished fourth at the Longford tournament in Canada. Ireland beat Les Blues in the short final (22-14), however, in the group stage yesterday (28-12).
But in the race for third place, Hobbes went too far into the defense. Amy-Lee Murphy Crowe, who increased his total effort to 12 in the Canadian tournament, enjoyed a stunning quadruple score. Ireland, who finished second in the Seville tournament, confirmed their progress with this bronze medal.
After the semi-final defeat against New Zealand (26-14), the French Longford tournament ended in another bad note. Especially since Shannon Isar seems to have suffered a serious knee injury against Ireland … the Blues have yet to reach a final after five tournaments this season (second and third in Dubai by the end of 2021).
Australia dominated the final against New Zealand on a try after a crazy final action (21-17). The Australians had already won the Sevens Series circuit before the meeting, even though there was a stage scheduled for May 20-22 in Toulouse.
