The European Football Association (UEFA) wants to host the finals together in 2028 and 2032. Great Britain and Ireland are the favorites to host the tournament in six years. The most likely candidate for 2032 is Italy. Like Russia, Turkey wants to host a major event in 2028 or 2032. The decision must be made by September 2023.
FIFA officially confirmed on Wednesday that the Russian governing body had excluded Russian teams from all FIFA competitions. Currently, Russian clubs or Russian national teams are not allowed to participate in World Association competitions. Most recently, the Court of Arbitration for Sport CAS rejected the appeal of the Russians against the suspension of FIFA teams. Russia’s men’s national team will be eliminated from the World Cup qualifiers ahead of the play – off semi – final against Poland, meaning they will not take part in the final in Qatar.
