Italy will offer UEFA to host the 2028 or 2032 European Football Championships, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) president said on Wednesday.

Italy had originally planned to host the Euro 2028 or 2030 World Cup, but a small project would make it more attractive and give the country the opportunity to upgrade the stadium it needs.

The crucial stage of Euro 2028 is March, when we will present our candidacy before the Executive Committee of UEFA, which is open to 2032 as well.FIGC President Gabriel Gravina told a news conference. “We will evaluate one of two options. We will do this seriously because there is a great desire for infrastructure upgrades, for example in Florence, Cagliari, Bologna and Barry.

Some Italian stadiums have not been updated since the 1990 World Cup, the last major football tournament to be hosted by Italy alone. In Florence, Fiorentina President Rocco Comisso has repeatedly expressed his disappointment at politicians’ refusal to invest in building a new stadium or even renovating an existing stadium, Artemis Franാois.

Several other countries have confirmed their intention to host Euro 2028, including the Football Associations of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, which have announced joint bids from the UK and Ireland for the tournament.
