Ireland lifted all travel restrictions

Published on

As with many other destinations, the Covid controls are removed or relaxed, so travelers do not have to show proof of vaccination, proof of recovery, or evidence of a COVID-19 test negative to enter the country.

So international travelers can visit the destination without any testing steps. The new rules went into effect on March 6.

In addition, passengers no longer need to complete a passenger locator form, which is very common for travel around the world during a pandemic.

In Ireland, masks are not mandatory, but they are recommended on public transport.

However, travelers who wish to make a day trip from Ireland to Northern Ireland for a day or a short break should make a quick check before departure, according to the Government website for those living in Northern Ireland.

Currently, the CDC classifies Ireland as a “tier 4” destination, indicating that the country has a “very high” COVID-19 transmission, and recommends that Americans “avoid” traveling there.

Ireland is not alone in removing COVID-19 travel restrictions. Last month, Iceland welcomed all vaccinated and non-vaccinated people, and Iceland lifted all COVID – 19 restrictions, including all travel rules related to the border.
