Today was an exciting day for a few show jumping teams at the World Championships in Herning as not all horses passed the vet test yesterday, as did the German team. Three were withdrawn within a short period of time. Everyone else checked out the stadium today and made their first jump.
FEI vets did not bother five horses yesterday with mandatory veterinary checks. Three people appeared for “re-examination” today:
- RMF Cecily by Jessica Springsteen (USA).
- Which Philo von Mathieu Billet (FRA)
- Kheros van Hoogende von Rene Lopez Lizarazo (COL)
- Chepetano von Maximilian Vecha (POL)
- Ladriano Z by Daniel Bluman (ISR).
However, Cecily, who was only a reserve horse for the US team, was withdrawn before retesting. That means defending champions Lily Keenan, Brian Mogre and Baloo du Reventon on Argan de Béliard, alongside Adrian Sternlich on Crystalline and McClain Ward on Epidemic.
Kheros vant Hoogeinde was not reintroduced, so the Colombians now have Santiago Diaz Ortega in Chasandro Boy, Carlos Ramirez with Extra des Sequoias, Camilo Rueda in Indus van het Keysereyck and Roberto Teran Tafur in Des Ocht. started
The other three horses were given the green light this morning. For Israel, Ladriano Z’s absence means only three pairs to be named, so the team is broken. In addition to Bluman and Ladriano Z, Caroline at Ballmore features Ashlee Bond and Robin Muhr with Stavita PS.
Also this morning we received news from Ireland that Darragh Kenny has sold his Holsteiner stallion Cartello VDL. Cartani withdraws. “We made this decision with the horse and the team in mind,” Kenny said Instagram. He thanks his sponsors and team. “Sometimes it works in our sport and we have to make difficult decisions. We will continue to work hard and get him fit again as soon as possible. ” on the side Irish Association Talk about a “veterinary problem”.
And so joins the Irish team Bertram Allen in Pacino Amiro (originally slated for reserve), Daniel Coyle and Legacy, Denise Lynch with Brooklyn Heights and Cian O’Connor in David Will’s C Four.
Training impressions
Not only did the vet check go smoothly for the Germans, but so did today’s training. Here are some impressions captured for us by Pauline von Hardenburg. Horses and riders created a focused, relaxed yet fresh impression.
