The Global Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday explained that it has not been presented with any proof that supports the statements built by former Sri Lanka Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage that the 2011 Environment Cup remaining involving India and Sri Lanka was set and hence, the globe system has no purpose to doubt the “integrity” of the match.
ICC concerns assertion
“The ICC Integrity Unit has looked into the the latest allegations pertaining to the ICC Men’s Cricket Entire world Cup Ultimate 2011. At this time, we have not been introduced with any evidence that supports the promises made or which would advantage launching an investigation below the ICC Anti-Corruption Code,” Alex Marshall, General Supervisor, ICC ACU, reported in a statement.
“There is no record of any letter about this subject sent by the then Sri Lanka Sports Minister to the ICC and senior ICC workers at the time have verified they have no recollection of acquiring any these kinds of letter which would have led to an investigation. We have no motive to question the integrity of the ICC Men’s Cricket Environment Cup Remaining 2011.
“We consider all allegations of this mother nature exceptionally seriously and must we acquire any proof to corroborate the claims, we will critique our existing situation,” the statement included.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan Police has also ended its probe into allegations that the 2011 Entire world Cup ultimate was preset, saying it found no proof to support the promises.
