Rotterdam (DPA) – Four days before the first jump at the CHIO in Aachen, the German team finished only fourth in the horse show at the Nations Cup in Rotterdam.

None of the four pairs could clean two rounds. National coach Otto Becker’s quartet conceded a total of 16 penalty points. The Dutch team won the Test without penalty, beating France and Ireland by eight points each.

Gerrit Nieberg from Sandenhost gave the best result, continuing with Ben without a knockdown in the first round and scoring four penalty points in the second. Katrin Eckerman (Sassenberg) had two knockdowns in each round with Kala Mandia and Marcus Ehning (Borken) with La Carte. The fourth team was Hans-Dieter Drehr (Emeldingen) with rider Elysium (0/12).

National coach Ehning was nominated for the Nations Cup at the CHIO in Aachen, but with his top horse, Stargold. In the world’s biggest tournament, the show jumping competitions will start on June 28th.
