Italy is starting its renaissance in the best possible way. Staying away from the 2018 World Cup, the unqualified squadron Asura, which experienced a catastrophe in the country, launched a high-level qualification campaign.
Roberto Mancini’s players finished top of Group H ahead of Finland and Greece with 10 wins, 37 goals and 4 goals in 10 games. Relying on Marco Verratti (PSG), Ciro Immobile (Lazio Rome) or Lorenzo Pellegrini (AS Rome), Italy is beginning its renaissance and can handle major roles in this Euro 2020. Italy will be in Group A, along with Turkey, Wales and Switzerland.

The last match
Italy, who missed the 2018 World Cup in Russia, played their last match at Euro 2016 in France. After finishing first in Group E, Germany were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Squadron Azura (1-1, 6-5 tab) ahead of Belgium, Ireland and Sweden.
Looking for the best performance since the final of Euro 2012, Italy continues to be disappointed but on the path to recovery. She will be one of the serious contenders for the Euro 2020 trophy.
Leonardo Bonucci, captain and head of defense
Leonardo Bonucci, captain of the Squadron Azura, will captain the team from May 2018. At the age of 34, Juventus have another season on their side in the Turin defense, where he was able to play his last European Championship this summer. The central defender will be careful to get a better match to erase the recent disappointments in the selection.

Roberto Mancini, symbol of renewal
Roberto Mancini, who arrived on the Italian selection bench in May 2018 with a nausea and depression, was destined to take charge of the Squadron Asura. The 56-year-old, who has gone through Manchester City, Inter Milan or Lazio Rome, has a great experience. In 28 matches as captain of the national team, he suffered only 2 defeats, making him one of the best-coached Italian coaches of all time.
As in the history of the Squadron Asura, he mainly trusts the players in Serie A.

Players to watch
Among the players to be seen in Italy, Zero Immobile is obvious. Best scorer, another great season with Lazio Rome (37 games, 24 goals). In the selection since 2014, the striker has only 45 selections. Despite his ups and downs, he now seems to have settled down perfectly and will be considered one of the best forwards in the competition.
Gianluigi Donner will also be a must see. At the age of 22, the young goalkeeper made a successful start to his career. Long has been announced as the worthy successor to Gianluigi Buffon, who will enjoy his first major match against Italy. His performances, which have been announced to start at AC Milan this summer, will be examined from all sides.
