In the Gaucher Museum Garden, 57 hippie countries will create a good atmosphere, followed by the movie Contra. If it rains, back to Goli Theatre.

Forecasts promise a sunny weekend – perfect conditions for the start of this year’s Golly Open Air Cinema on Saturday, August 13 at the Gocher Museum Gardens. Starting at 7pm, “57 Hippalander” will get guests in the mood for the evening with music.

The 57 Hippalander was born out of the merger of the two bands

57 Hippelander was born from the fusion of two bands: the Honeypixies/Hippelander. Their focus was on smash folk, later on world songs and their own typical folk instruments. The group has been together for nearly 35 years with a few personnel changes, with concerts in the Lower Rhine, the Netherlands, Ireland and France. Some have known each other since the 1970s. The second band was A57 Blue, whose focus was on chanson, ballads, blues and jazz. From Jacques Brel to Sass, Louis Armstrong, Girl from Ipanema to Sting and his own songs.

After dark, the open air cinema starts

As night falls, a 2020 German production flashes on a 50 square meter screen in an open-air cinema: “Contra” (Germany 2020, FSK: 12). Professor Richard Paul (Christoph Maria Herbst) threatens law student Naima Hamid (Nilam Farooq) with expulsion from his university after she insults him in a packed lecture hall. When the video goes viral, university president Alexander Lambrecht (Ernst Stötzner) offers his old friend one last chance: if the rhetorically gifted professor succeeds in bringing freshman Naima to a nationwide debate competition, his chances before the disciplinary committee will be much higher. good Paul and Naima are both apprehensive, but over time, the unequal partnership of facilities accumulates initial successes – until Naima realizes that the multicultural fairy tale apparently serves only one purpose: protecting the university’s reputation.

The general conditions for this year’s open-air cinema are as follows: entry from 6pm, live music starts at 7pm. The movie starts at night. Blankets, beanbags and deck chairs can be brought, and cold drinks and snacks are available at reasonable prices. If it rains, the movie will stop and the band will play at the Goli Theatre.
