Lucas Nemecs suffered a first-round loss at the Irish Open at Mount Juliet Estate on Thursday.

Styrian had two double bogeys in the $6 million DP World Tour tournament and entered the clubhouse with a 74 (2 over par).

That puts him at No. 134, and he’s fighting to make the cut on Friday. Qualifying for the Open Championship at St Andrews is a long way off.

It leads New Zealand’s Ryan Fox by 64 strokes.
