At the end of a successful European Championship qualifier, Heidenheim – Stefan Kuntz and the newly formed German U21 celebrated the expected victory. After booking tickets for next year’s European Championship, the European champions beat Ireland 2-0 (2-0) in Heidenheim on Tuesday. Johnny Sera (32nd minute) and Levine Ostunali (40th minute) scored in front of 3229 spectators.
Germany ended the qualifying round with eight wins, one draw and one defeat from ten games. At next year’s EM in Italy and San Marino, the Kunts selection wants to successfully defend their title.
The German team is clearly the best
Kuntz moved his election to ten seats. Despite many changes, the German team clearly rose to 6-0 in the first quarter. The fine tuning of the newly formed force was further improved. After a good teamwork and preparation for Ostunali, who is recovering from a ruptured muscle bundle in July, Sera from Keel has become a worthy lead.
Ostunali raised himself to 2-0. The 22-year-old pulled the best Arjan Robben style from the right, finishing with a left foot shot. The Mains player had previously hit a shot post (35).
Former Nuremberg Abdul Hamid Sabiri prepared for Ostunali’s 2-0 win. Sabiri, who currently plays for Huddersfield Town in the Premier League, has made his Under-21 team debut, as have Gladback goalkeeper Moritz Nicholas and Hertha professional Maximilian Mittels. With a header (29) and a cross bar (32) Sabiri was very close to his first goal.
More tests in November
After the sideline, Johannes Egstein from Bremen had two chances to make it 3-0. The Irish still had no choice but to oppose the fast-paced German game. Only in the end did the German players become very careless with their options. With an artistic contribution, Marcel Hartell finished approximately 64th. But the Union Berlin player’s side puller gate missed; Like his long range shot after a solo run (80th).
As the German team, as group winners, made their way through the playoffs, Kunts could continue the experiment in November. A friendly match against the Netherlands is scheduled for November 16 in Offenback, with the DFB selection taking place in Italy four days later.
