Nick Gorisen, developer of Gladiatorial Combat Simulator Domina, urged gamers not to use protective masks in public places. In response, gamers began to underestimate the game’s rating on Steam.
In the patch notes for the beta version of Domina, the author decided to include information unrelated to the game. He took a personal stand on the relationship between men and women and “advised” – in reviews for the game, users commented that it was not necessary.
“Take off the destructive mask! The next time you come to the grocery store, try to show your face to any woman. Be confident in yourself, do not be afraid of a lie – you probably have a girlfriend. Women like to be confident, they do not like boys who cover their faces with fear. What are you finally afraid of?” Are you sleeping with a woman? Grow up!
Following the release of the accompanying description, the rating of the game Domina On Steam dropped. Within two days, the recent ratings went from “very positive” to “very negative.” At the time of publishing the material, gamers gave 678 negative reviews. The author did not listen to the audience’s criticism: he not only did not remove the controversial description of the patch note, but also began to ridicule players who spoke about the situation on Twitter.
