Sweden, like Finland, has been asked to join NATO. Its candidacy is being tested, but that does not prevent the Nordic country from already standing too close to the Atlantic alliance, and has continued to do so for years. Residents of Stockholm have been recognizing this since the arrival of about 40 warships that have been participating in tactical operations in the Baltic Sea since this Sunday.

With our correspondent in Stockholm, Frederick Falls

The front of this ship, the inhabitants of Stockholm could not lose it. Helicopter carrier USS Kearsarge, 257 meters long, it was very difficult to find its location in the port of the Swedish capital. Around him, on the dock, in various parts of the city, came 40 other ships from the United States, as well as a dozen other Allies.

Communication activity

This is a great communication activity for NATO, which is based in Stockholm, celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Swedish Navy this weekend. For those who came to see this magnificent Armada and especially to take photos, it was all like a dress rehearsal before. Their country’s entry into the Atlantic Alliance.

Anyway, this is the sentiment of Marcus and Jacob: We had NATO ships here before, but not so big. We need the security that NATO gives us, because we are a little closer to the Russians “Says one of the two residents.” I totally agree. It is amazing to see all these countries behind us ! “It simply came to our notice then.
