Dortmund, Germany (Reuters) – Borussia Dortmund beat Cologne 2-1 in the Bundesliga title match on Saturday.
For the first time in 29 years, Cologne Dortmund scored three points in their last win in 1991, beating the club’s record 18-game win in the league.
The visitors stunned Dortmund on their way to Lazio in the Champions League next week, with Ellis Skiri hitting a distant post in the ninth minute with his first goal.
Dortmund, who beat Hertha Berlin 3-0 in the Champions League last week in the Champions League, had no real punch.
In the 74th minute Thorgan Hazard reduced the deficit with a low shot but Earling Holland missed a very late attack and a golden opportunity at the stoppage. Equilibrium.
Dortmund have lost three of their last nine league games, trailing by 18 points at third place, behind four off-leaders Bayern Munich and two RB Leipzigs. Cologne’s first win of the season lifted them from the bottom to 15th in the top six.
