Fairphone, The Dutch manufacturer of sustainable smartphones, has released an upgrade to Android 10 on the more than six-year-old Fairphone 2. The upgrade has been tried by the company since the end of last year, but now it is for everyone Made available.
Users can install the upgrade using ‘Fairphone’UpdaterManually flash the latest Fairphone OS / Open version via the app or computer.
Fairphone 2 was released in 2015 along with Android 5 and over time came with upgrades to Android 6, 7.1 and 9. This new upgrade is the result of Fairphone’s collaboration with the open source community. Fairfone received support from developers of the well-known non-Android open source LineageOS, which received the outdated Snapdragon 801 chip for Fairfone 2 running on Android 10.
