Facebook is facing lawsuits in several countries

Last Saturday, the personal data of 533 million Facebook users was posted on an online forum. The spontaneous leak reached 106 countries, including Brazil. The disclosed information includes telephone numbers, full names, location, date of birth, social network ID and e-mail. Regulatory bodies in the European Union and Russia have launched an investigation into the company founded by Mark Zuckerberg.

The Irish Data Protection Commission recalled that Facebook user data for 2018 and 2019 had already been published on the Internet. The social network clarified that the information was received and the failure was corrected when there was a risk in the telephone search feature.

Russian media regulation, censorship and oversight agency are demanding more information on how the leak compromised the 10 million users. The agency said the incident exposed 76.3 per cent of the country’s social network base.
