Bolzano – From December 16, 2021, customers across Europe will be able to find answers to their questions about consumer law in Europe on the new website of the European Consumer Network Network (ECC-Net), www.eccnet.eu.
An international team of ECC-Net members from Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden, Italy and Cyprus set themselves the goal of using the English language website to address issues currently facing customers.
The user-friendly platform is a complete and practical guideline based on applicable EU law.
ECC-Net provides free legal advice to customers and specializes in cross-border issues such as travel, shopping and services.
Anyone from another EU country, Iceland, or Norway who cannot find a contract with a company (for example an airline or an online shop operator) can contact the network.
The contact person for each customer is the respective European Consumer Center (EVZ) in the customer’s home country. If necessary, ECC-Net will contact the problem company directly and ensure that those seeking advice receive expert support in their native language. Italian customers can contact Italy, the European customer base in Bolzano and Rome.
The new website offers a country-by-country overview with contact details.
ECC-Net is funded jointly by the European Commission and EU member states.
