“Dream” in World Cup Qatar

The ball used in the semi-finals and finals of the 2022 Qatar World Cup will bear the name “The Dream” instead of “The Journey”, German giants Adidas have revealed. Sports Equipment and Apparel Manufacturing Company, Sunday.

The “Dream” ball is made with the same technical features used in the “Yatra” based on the “Connected Ball” system designed by Adidas, a technology that has been successful in Qatar by identifying offside cases more quickly and accurately.

The technology relies on positioning data of players inside the green square to provide real-time information to help the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) make the right decisions.

By matching ball data received from the Dream’s sensor with artificial intelligence technology, this technology supports a semi-automated offside detection system, enabling it to accurately identify the moment the ball is played in unclear offside situations.

Environmental protection was taken into account in the design of the ball, taking into account all important aspects in this regard, “Dream” became the first ball in the history of official balls used in the semi-finals and finals of the World Cup. Make only with water-based inks and glues.
