Emerdale star Joe Warren Plant has been confirmed as the second contestant in next year’s Dancing on Ice series.

The 18-year-old singer and TV presenter joins the Mylene class in the Dancing on Ice lineup as the first celebrity to join the cast on Sunday night.

Commenting on his participation, Plant said, “I am very excited to learn something new. I’m in it to achieve that, 100 percent! ”

He added, “(I) am very excited. I’m glad Emerdale had time to focus on training, trying my best to learn a new skill. This is a new challenge, I have never done anything like this before, so I’m very excited. ”

When asked about the show’s famous dress code, he said, “I can’t wait. Dress code, fancy dress parties, these are all part of the fun. ”

The plant’s part of the Dancing on Ice 2021 lineup was first announced this morning, when Sharon Marshall revealed her partnership with Philip Sheffield and Holly Willoughby joking that this year’s show has a “cracking” lineup.

In an Instagram post confirming the news, Dancing on Ice wrote, “He spent a decade in Dales, so now is the time to try ice! It is best to turn on your skate @ joeplant10. ”

The popular series will return to ITV in the New Year, with 12 celebrities competing to impress the judging panel and home audience as they take ice with their celebrity partners.

The 2021 series will once again be hosted by Willoughby and Showfield, and the judging panel will include Torville, Dean, John Baroman and Ashley Banjo.

More celebrities competing in Dancing on Ice 2021 will continue to be announced in the coming days.
