Clara Ampho of Strictly shares Strict schedule while training late into the night

Published on

Straight cum dancer Clara Ampho has opened up about her strict training schedule.

The 36-year-old Radio One presenter broadcasts from 10.30am to 1pm. She said the meetings would end at 2pm before leaving for rehearsal.

Speaking on Tuesday’s Loose Woman episode, Clara scoffed that she could not sleep because of her busy schedule.

Ruth Langsford, who appeared in Strictly with Anton Du Beck in 2017, does not say how difficult it was before the celebrities attended.

She said: “No one tells you they don’t want to spoil the experience because when you are strictly invited it is very exciting and there is a lot of hard work.

“You do a radio show on Radio One every morning, and then you go to training.”

Clara said to her: “Sleep, what’s sleep? Oh gosh.

Her training schedule seems tough

“Usually I finish Radio One and then for a few days I try to have lunch while we plan what we are going to do, so I’m in a meeting with my producer.

“Then usually I was in a car from two-ish to get to our rehearsal place.

“We’ll not stop yet … Yes, we’re rehearsing for another week of Tango until about 10am.

Clara scoffed that she could not sleep

“You don’t understand where the time is honest, you walk, it’s broad during the day, it’s black when you go.”

This year Clara is dancing with Aljaz Scorzenek, and the pair made it to the weekend show.

* Loose Women will air on weekdays at 12:30 pm while Strictly Come Dancing will continue on Saturday at 7:10 pm on BBC One
